Tequila

The tequila, obtained from the distillation of the blue agave (Agave tequilana), was born in Mexico in the XVI century near the locality where after 1666 the city of Tequila will rise.

The name “tequila” indicates a denomination of controlled origin, internationally recognized: to be such, must be produced in some specific areas of Mexico, must also have an alcohol content of 40-45 °, be obtained by double distillation in discontinuous alembic and contain at least 51% of blue agave distillate.
