The gin, usually colorless dry distillate, owes its name to the juniper plants that produce the berries used for its preparation and which characterize its scent and taste.
This distillate was created in the mid-seventeenth century in the Netherlands by a doctor from the University of Leiden, Francisco Della Boe, better known as Franciscus Sylvius, with the aim of treating the Dutch soldiers who fell ill with fever in the East Indies.
Currently used for the preparation of numerous cocktails, gin can not miss in the activities dedicated to catering.
